Disappointing compared to our '09 cruise by GraceB
Sail date: / Traveled as: CoupleShip: Seabourn Legend / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean
The Legend is showing her age. There were stains and cracks in the bathroom marble, linens were frayed and scratchy, the bed was lumpy, furnishings were scratched and dented. Wines were not "premium"; i.e., Santa Margherita was served as the white and was poured throughout the meal unless a red was requested. We were in a lower price cabin category, but I think it is reasonable to expect a better experience for $1200 a day. We paid considerably less for a better cabin in '09, which comparatively was an exceptional experience.

First timers with Seabourn by DubaiDolly
Sail date: / Traveled as: CoupleShip: Seabourn Legend / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe
Having sailed on the larger cruise ships of Celebrity, RCI and Cunard we are able to compare the large verus smaller ship.
Seabourn is initimate, it has all the usual facilities of the larger ships but on a smaller scale except for the cabins which appeared much bigger than the average cabin on the larger ships. The nice thing about Seabourn Legend having only 200 passengers is that you probably get to meet or at least ackowledge all your other fellow passengers and most of the staff address you by name after day two. There is no queuing dockside to get on or off the ship. The club lounge where the shows are held seat all 200 passenegrs so need to finish dinner early to secure a seat. Dinner is served between 19.00-21.00 so you can dine anytime not having to hurry for an early seating dinner as on the larger ships and you can sit all night at your table without rushing to let other passengers dine after you. As everything is inclusive drinks and food there is no handing over your cabin suite access card to be swiped for payment.
The ships can also go further into the centre of each destination where as the larger ships are often docked along way out of town in commerial ports.
Alot more destinations can accomodate smaller ships so you are able to travel to destinations that can not simply faciliate the larger ship. Often we were the only ship in port which makes sightseeing and using public transport a pleasure.
The market that Seabourn attracts are down to earth people who do over dress for dinner. In general we felt more relaxed on this smaller and intimate ship than the usual ships that cater for the mass.

First Cruise Sets a High Bar by JEB0114
Sail date: / Traveled as: CoupleShip: Seabourn Legend / Destination: Caribbean
We probably should have selected a lower level line for our first cruise. It's going to be hard for anyone else to match up to this experience. Ship is relatively small, but certainly big enough to navigate comfortably in Caribbean. Itinerary was fine, but our first trip, so not much basis for comparison. Food was excellent, and that is very important to us. Wines not top shelf, but good. No need to pay for an upgrade.
